Penpal Letters

What an exciting day! We were sent letters from America. We each got a colourful envelope from Grade 5 children in America ( they were the children Miss Patel taught before she came to Room 5).

We are opening up our envelopes to see who our penpal is.

We are now busy writing letters back to our penpals. We have to read the letters carefully because our penpals asked questions for us to answer. Some of us found things that were the same with us and our penpal.

Angry Verbs

We have been working with our buddy class Room 16 to learn about verbs. Super verbs help paint a picture for the reader when we are writing.

We went out with our buddy class with lots of different PE gear. While we were playing with our buddies we came up with a whole lot of verbs.



We got back together with our buddies and watched some Angry Birds and came up with verbs for the birds and piggies What verbs can you think of when you watch this trailer?

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

The Bitzer Maloney reading group have been learning to retell stories. They have been learning about characters, settings and finding the problems in texts. They made their own puppet characters and a setting for their puppet show.

The Digi-Leaders came and helped us make movie trailers to advertise our puppet shows. The Kidd-li-winks loved working with the Digi-Leaders.

Mystery Box

Beau has something in our Mystery Box. What could it be?

3D Shapes

We have been learning about parts of a 3D shape and finding 3D shapes around us. The Clocks maths group created Poplets about a 3D shape.

We all pulled apart boxes to see what they look like flat.

We then put the boxes back together.

We also had a turn at making our own boxes and cubes.
